Last weekend was a great success at the Noah’s Hope Foundation 5K! We not only got a great opportunity to run for the benefit, but to have a stretching booth and auction off a raffle item as well. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did and we can’t wait to participate in next years event. Also, if anyone is interested in donating to Noah’s Hope Foundation, they can do so year round. We would like to send a HUGE congratulations to Be Fit client Cailyn Trant!! Cailyn and her dance team not only made it far enough to be invited to compete in the 2014 World Irish Dance Championships in London, but brought home the 1st Place Trophy!! The Trinity dance team won the Minor Girls Figure Choreography U13 with a dance called ‘The Dawn”. We know how much hard work Cailyn put into preparation for the competition at Be Fit. Not only did she come here for Physical Therapy but upon completion continued to train privately with our Personal Trainer, Sharon. We are so glad to see all her hard work pay off!!
Exercise is not something you should do solely for weight loss purposes. Studies show that the leading reason to exercise is to reduce whole body inflammation. The association between exercise and inflammation is far more positive and conclusive than for exercise and weight loss. Here is an article we found very interesting and informative about multiple studies done on both, weight loss and exercise in terms of inflammation of the body. Enjoy!
Physical Therapy is not just for people who need rehabilitation! Marlene is one of our incredibly motivated patients who used Physical Therapy as a training tool to prepare for the Dopey Challenge at Walt Disney World in January. All in 5 short days Marlene ran a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and a Full Marathon! We are very proud and would like to congratulate Marlene on all of her success! Be Fit is also interested in starting a Runners Club come spring. If you, or anyone you know is interested in running a few times a week, please contact us!
